Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, one of you enters the mosque, and Satan mounts him just as a man mounts his animal. If Satan becomes settled, he will collar him or bridle him.” Abu Huraira said, “You can witness this. As for the collar, it is that you see him filled with thoughts of whatever such that he does not remember Allah. As for the bridle, his mouth will open, but he does not remember Allah.”
