Abdur Rahman ibn Qatadah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah created Adam and then took hold of the creation from behind, saying: These were created for Paradise and I am not concerned, and these were created for Hellfire and I am not concerned.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, then upon what should we act?” The Prophet said, “Upon the fields of providence.”

عَنْ عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ بْن قَتَادَةَ السُّلَمِي عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الْخَلْقَ مِنْ ظَهْرِهِ فقَالَ هَؤُلَاءِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا أُبَالِي وَهَؤُلَاءِ فِي النَّارِ وَلَا أُبَالِي قَالَ قَائِلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَعَلَى مَاذَا نَعْمَلُ قَالَ عَلَى مَوَاقِعِ الْقَدَرِ
