Hadith on Funerals: Angels prod those who wail over his grave

Abu Musa al-Ash’ari reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No person dies and people stand over him wailing, saying, ‘What a great man he was! How dignified he was!’ but that two angels are appointed over him to prod him, saying, ‘Is that really how you were?’”

Grade: Hasan (fair) according to Al-Tirmidhi

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مَيِّتٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَقُومُ بَاكِيهِ فَيَقُولُ وَاجَبَلَاهْ وَاسَيِّدَاهْ أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا وُكِّلَ بِهِ مَلَكَانِ يَلْهَزَانِهِ أَهَكَذَا كُنْتَ
