Abu Umamah reported: I was beside the camel of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the day of liberation. The speech of the Prophet was beautiful and most excellent, among which he said, “Whoever embraces Islam from the people of the two Books will have his reward twice. He will have what we have and be responsible as we are. Whoever embraces Islam from the idolaters will have his reward. He will have what we have and be responsible as we are.”

عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَتَحْتَ رَاحِلَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَقَالَ قَوْلًا حَسَنًا جَمِيلًا وَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَهُ مَا لَنَا وَعَلَيْهِ مَا عَلَيْنَا وَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ وَلَهُ مَا لَنَا وَعَلَيْهِ مَا عَلَيْنَا
