Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to us while we were reciting the Quran to each other. The Prophet said, “All praise is due to Allah! The Book of Allah is one. Among you are those with brown skin, white skin, and black skin. Continue reciting it before some people come who merely sharpen its outer form as if they were sharpening an arrow.”

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نقتريء فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ وَاحِدٌ وَفِيكُمُ الْأَحْمَرُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ وَالْأَسْوَدُ اقْرَؤُوهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْرَأَهُ أَقْوَامٌ يُقَوِّمُونَهُ كَمَا يُقَوَّمُ السَّهْمُ
