Hadith on Tahajjud: Allah descends in last third of night

Ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When a third of the night remains, Allah Almighty descends to the lowest heavens, then the gates of heaven are opened, and He reaches out, saying: Are there any asking that might give them what they request? It continues as such until the rise of dawn.
