Imam al-Ghazali commented, “Close to cursing is supplication for evil against a person, even supplication against a wrongdoer, such as asking Allah to never give them bodily health or peace and so on, for that is reprehensible. In the narrations, the oppressed will continue to supplicate against the wrongdoer until he is sufficiently recompensed, then what is beyond that is a surplus in favor of the wrongdoer on the Day of Resurrection.”
