Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Islam has milestones, lamps like the lamps on the road. Among them are that you worship Allah without associating anything with Him, you perform the prayer, you give charity, you perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the House, you fast in the month of Ramadan, and you enjoin good and forbid evil. It is your greeting of peace when you enter your household and your greeting of peace to the children of Adam when you meet them. If they return it to you, the angels return it to them. If they do not return it, the angels return it to you, or curse them, or stay silent over them. Whoever belittles any of these, it is a sign of Islam he has abandoned. Whoever casts them all aside has thrown Islam behind his back.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ لِلْإِسْلَامِ صُوًى وَ مَنَارًا كَمَنَارِ الطَّرِيقِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَنْ يُعْبَدَ اللَّهُ لَا يُشْرَكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ وَتُؤْتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَيُحَجَّ الْبَيْتُ وَيُصَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَالْأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْي عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتَسْلِيمُكَ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ إِذَا دَخَلْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَتَسْلِيمُكَ عَلَى بَنِي آدَمَ إِذَا لَقِيتَهُمْ فَإِنْ رَدُّوا عَلَيْكَ رَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيْكَ رَدَّتْ عَلَيْكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَلَعَنَتْهُمْ أَوْ سَكَتَتْ عَنْهُمْ وَمَنِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْهُنَّ شَيْئًا فَهُوَ سَهْمٌ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ تَرَكَهُ وَمَنْ نَبَذَهُنَّ فَقَدْ وَلَّى الْإِسْلَامَ ظَهْرَهُ
