Hadith on Jama’ah: Rewards for ablution, then congregation

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When one of you performs ablution in the best manner, then leaves from his house to the mosque, he does not depart but in a state of prayer. His left foot continues to expiate sins, while his right foot earns good deeds until he enters the mosque. If people knew what was contained in the evening and morning prayers, they would surely come even if they had to crawl.

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ لَا يَنْزَعُهُ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةُ فِيهِ لَمْ تَزَلْ رِجْلُهُ الْيُسْرَى تَمْحُو عَنْهُ سَيِّئَةً وَرِجْلُهُ الْيُمْنَى تَكْتُبُ لَهُ حَسَنَةً حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي الْعَتَمَةِ وَالصُّبْحِ لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا
