‘Ali ibn al-Husayn reported: He saw a man coming to the opening by the grave of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he entered it to supplicate. ‘Ali called for him and he said, “Shall I not narrate to you a tradition I heard from my father and my grandfather? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not take my grave as a place of festival, nor take your houses as graves. Send blessings upon me, for your blessings reach me wherever you are.”

عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَجِيءُ إِلَى فُرْجَةٍ كَانَتْ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَدْخُلُ فِيهَا فَيَدْعُو فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا قَبْرِي عِيدًا وَلَا بُيُوتَكُمْ قُبُورً وَصَلُّوا عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّ صَلَاتَكُمْ تَبْلُغُنِي حَيْثُمَا كُنْتُمْ
