Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever trails their garment in pride, Allah will never look at them on the Day of Resurrection.” Umm Salamah said, “What should women do with their hems?” The Prophet said, “Slacken them by a handspan.” She said, “Then their feet would be exposed.” The Prophet said, “Then slacken them by a forearms’ length and no more.”

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَكَيْفَ يَصْنَعْنَ النِّسَاءُ بِذُيُولِهِنَّ قَالَ يُرْخِينَ شِبْرًا فَقَالَتْ إِذًا تَنْكَشِفَ أَقْدَامُهُنَّ قَالَ فَيُرْخِينَهُ ذِرَاعًا لَا يَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ
