Hadith on Usury: Humiliation upon Ummah until repentance

Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When you engage in usurious transactions, hold on to the tails of cows, being pleased with agriculture, and abandon jihad, Allah will appoint disgrace as an authority over you and it will not be removed until you return to your religion.

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ بِالْعِينَةِ وَأَخَذْتُمْ أَذْنَابَ الْبَقَرِ وَرَضِيتُمْ بِالزَّرْعِ وَتَرَكْتُمُ الْجِهَادَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ ذُلًّا لَا يَنْزِعُهُ حَتَّى تَرْجِعُوا إِلَى دِينِكُمْ
