Hadith on Fiqh: Understanding Islam a light unto the nations

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whomever Allah intends goodness for, He grants him understanding of the religion.”

Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2645

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Tirmidhi

Imam al-Ajurri commented, “Thus, when Allah Almighty intended goodness for them, He granted them understanding of His religion. He taught them the Book and the Wisdom, so they became beacons for the servants and lights unto the nations.”
