Al-Walid reported: Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Whoever passes through foreign lands and participates in their new years and their festivals, imitating them and dying upon that way, then he will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.”

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim commented, “It is not permissible for Muslims to support them in this matter, nor to help them, nor to be present with them, according to the consensus of the people of knowledge. The jurists among the followers of the Four Imams have stated this explicitly in their books.”
