Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty looks over His creation on the middle night of Sha’ban, and He forgives His servants except for two: one carrying hostility and one who murdered an innocent soul.”

Grade: Sahih li ghayrihi (authentic due to external evidence) according to Al-Arna’ut
Imam al-Tibi commented, “One carrying hostility is carrying enmity. Hostility is enmity. Perhaps the meaning is the hatred occurring between Muslims on account of the ego commanding evil, which is not for the sake of religion. Thus, not one of them is safe from hurting his companion in front of him by his hand or tongue, for that leads to killing and maybe ends in unbelief.”
