Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When you stone the pillars, you will have light on the Day of Resurrection.”

Imam Ibn Qudamah commented, “When you stone the pillars, intend by it submission to the command, manifesting servitude, devotion, and pure compliance—without any share for the ego in it.”
