Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “All creatures depend upon Allah, and the most beloved creatures to Allah are those who are most beneficial to His dependents.”

Imam al-Munawi commented, “The intended meaning is those among creation whom a person is able to benefit, beginning with those of greatest importance. It may also refer to a person’s own dependents whose support and maintenance are obligatory upon him, though the first interpretation is more apparent.”
