Amr ibn Umayyah reported: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, from a journey and he said, “Stay to eat, O Abu Umayyah.” I said, “Indeed, I am fasting.” The Prophet said, “Come close to me and I will tell you about the traveler. Verily, Allah Almighty has waived for him fasting and half of the prayer.”

عن عمرو بن أمية قَالَ قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ انْتَظِرْ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ تَعَالَ ادْنُ مِنِّي حَتَّى أُخْبِرَكَ عَنْ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ
